Three Angels

This post is about my three angels.

Angel number one is Krista Lu Draper Doshier, from Grants Pass, Oregon. The day she arrived from heaven brought the blessing of true friendship into our home, which has remained over the years.

As a child, it became obvious she would be an independent soul.  One night, after getting her ready for bed, I tried to help her button her pajama tops.  She said to me, "I do it myself."  And she did, but not without a struggle; however, she accomplished the task all on her own. Today, she is still independent, along with being a courageous and industrious worker. Krista's care and concern for her younger siblings proved her to be a selfless, cheerful spirit. She is a talented woman with musical abilities at the piano, which she feels from her heart, and gives service wherever it is needed. She also adds to her gift of nutritional knowledge; confident sewing skills; dedicated company associate; and leadership wisdom; which she shares with family, church, and community.

The following quote reminds me of my daughter Krista:

Anyone can carry his burden, however hard, until nightfall.
Anyone can do his work, however hard, for one day.
Anyone can live sweetly, patiently, lovingly, purely,
till the sun goes down. And this is all that life really means.
                                                                   - Robert Louis Stevenson

Angel number two is Shauna Draper Wheelwright, from Logan, Utah.  She brought with her the gift of peace and it soon became apparent she would be the entertainer.

While she was very young, watching her dance across the living room floor and hearing her sing little ditties, gave a hint to her bright personality. When she was five, to enhance her budding, young musical talent, her grandmother, Margaret Nye, made her a special "Alice Blue Gown." She wore the gown on stage and sang the same renown song to the delight of her audiences.  She has been blessed with a sunny disposition along with creative skills with her crochet hook.  She has developed her talent of copious reading and being a confident reviewer of books for her following of authors. Shauna also enjoys sharing her unique, numerable, charitable talents of crafts, music, technology, and leadership skills with her family, church, and community.

I wish to share the following words with my daughter Shauna:

The greatest thing in this world
is not so much where we stand,
as in what direction we are moving.
                                            - Oliver Wendell Homes

Angel number three is Melinda Draper West, from South Ogden, Utah.  Melinda joined our family and enhanced our lives with the gift of caring.

From her very early years, she expressed her desire of being a healer of body and soul.  While she was very young, and after a routine visit to a doctor's office, she announced, "I want to be just like Pat, that nurse, who helped me." Her direction in life did not change. Melinda has become a registered nurse and a medical consultant, while giving compassionate service to others with sincere kindness and care.  She has received the honor of being revered by her co-workers.  She also used her gift of music in school activities, a play, and community events.  Melinda enjoys a courageous spirit; gift of camaraderie; leadership abilities; and an optimistic attitude. Her qualities of being a charitable woman are enjoyed by all who come in contact with her.

I quote the following words for my daughter Melinda:

            Choice is a divine teacher;
for when we choose we learn
that nothing is ever put in our
            path without a reason.
                                - Iyanla  Vanzant

What a blessing to have seven redheaded children, four boys and three girls.
Was I a great mom...YES
Was I a bad mom...YES
Whatever stage I was in, I seemed to dish it out according to the knowledge and
feelings I had at the time; like an active whirlwind.
I can honesty can say it has been a fun and a glorious adventure.
There were laughs galore, as if the noise and racket would blow off the roof.
There were tears aplenty, like a mighty waterfall cascading over a cliff.
And tons of loving and caring never to cease, unless the earth becomes square.

And always there were and are wonderful blessings.

Now my dear friend, we all have come from a family unit.
It does not matter the size, it could be many, two or just you.
What does matter, is the
positive memories we have of our own personal life and the
talents we have been blessed with.

WHAT ARE YOUR MEMORIES AND TALENTS?

Until the next post, be good to yourself,
know the Lord loves you, and wants you to serve gladly.
