Thoughts

This is a terrific topic...thoughts!

Among the many noises of the world, it is nice to bask in quiet solitude for the purpose of thinking. However, it is important to think productive thoughts producing a life of rewarding achievements.

The above picture hangs on a wall in our home.  I often gaze at the man, for he (The Thinker), is a symbol of the need to ponder quietly.  I enjoy taking time to feel the rich experience of thinking...thinking of this and that and pondering upon positive thought patterns; bringing calm to my hectic life.

Sometime ago, I read an intriguing book by James Allen, who addressed the subject of "As a Man Thinketh."  Mr. Allen wrote: "As the plant springs from, and could not be without, the seed, so every act of a man springs from the hidden seeds of thought, and could not have appeared without them. This applies equally to those acts called 'spontaneous' and 'unpremeditated' as to those which are deliberately executed."

I find deep wisdom in the following
story titled "Old Cherokee Tale of Two Wolves."

One evening an old Cherokee Indian told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people.  He said, "My son, the battle is between two 'wolves' inside us all.  One is Evil.  It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego. The other is Good.  It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith."

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, "Which wolf wins?"

The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."

"The one you feed"...what wisdom!

It would be wise for all of us to have the power to think...think positive
thoughts and always remember:

For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he. (Prov. 23:7)

A very dear, personal friend shared with me the following idea:  Each morning go to a mirror, give yourself a smile, and say something nice to yourself. May I add...followed by a positive thought to think about all day long.

Sending happy thoughts to you.

God Bless
