Sacred Gift

This is a thought to ponder.

It's Christmas, the most wonderful time of the year.  We watch people scurrying about in joyful activities; extending cheerful holiday greetings; singing out with robust voices to the delightful Christmas songs; and we see many that are occupied with secret gift preparations.

The "gift" is often the focus of children and adults alike. Some will look for large packages; others order a gift in a small box. No matter the size, it is the act of giving with a warm, heartfelt feeling of compassion that is important.

Often times it is the giver who receives more than the recipient. President Uchtdorf states, "Something happens within us as we extend ourselves to others. We become more refined, more charitable, more humble. Our hearts become more receptive to the Spirit and the windows of heaven can be opened to us."

Our Savior, Jesus Christ, has given to all of us the gift of love.  His mission completely focused on showing and giving love to all he mingled among.  His desire is that we too follow his pattern and give love -- it is the power of life.

May we, you and I, do as the Savior did and give the sacred gift of...

Let us give it in our smile, our eyes, our handshake, our words, our thoughts,
our listening ears, and from our heart.

Dear Reader, until the next post my "Love" thoughts are with you.

  2. We are glad that Grandma didn't get run over by a reindeer.
Joyful that Santa's weight issues makes all of us by comparison feel skinny.
Its nice to get cool stuff even though honestly we don't deserve it, we could have been better.
Think about it...is there anything more cheerful than Christmas tree lights!
    Merry Christmas
