Remember

This post's purpose is to enhance our remembering.

President Henry B. Eyring used the term "cast my mind over the day."   What a fascinating statement! It reminds us to watch and remember the activities taking place in our daily living.

I can think of many daily statements jogging us to remember.

Remember to set the clock.
Remember to keep your appointment.
Remember to eat healthy.
Remember to  take care of . . . the list could go on and on.

Remember when you watched a sunrise. First the glow indicating were it would emerge, then the brilliant sun majestically appeared over the horizon and slowly filled the world with its golden rays of light. It is a morning miracle!

Remember when you watched a changing, colorful, impressive sunset.  The sleepy sun slipped down into Mother Earth's pocket and left behind the evening's quiet twilight.

Remember your feelings as you watched these sacred events of nature.

What about your name? Is it a beacon to help you "remember" who you are and the standards it brings to your life? My middle name is Lu.  I was named after a fascinating, aristocratic, business woman. She was Lulu Holt Needham and held the high esteem of her family and community.  She organized and became the founder of the S. E. Needham Jewelry store in Logan, Utah, in 1896. I feel a responsibility to "remember" to guard the name with care.

Dear Reader,
To all of us, may we:
Remember to build fond memories of exciting, worthwhile activities.
Remember to find funny twists and turns in life; they bring gales of laughter.
Remember to create unique, happy moments to cherish.
Remember to plan adventures to share with loved ones.
Remember to become a creator of productive traditions.
Remember to have fun and let it flow freely.

President Eyring's term of  "cast my mind over the day" is a marvelous statement to help us "remember" the blessings filtering down from heaven into our busy lives.  Do we "remember" the LDS hymn, "Count Your Many Blessings" . . .  and name them one by one?

Remember, remember, we are children of God and he loves us unconditionally.

Until the next post, "remember" to take care of yourself; it is important.
